"With salvation comes damnation, you can't have one without the other. To be enlightened is a blessing and a curse that not many people can live with." ~Apathy

Life and Death summed up in mere sentences....

I was reading a quote from Pierre Teilhard de Chardin which read, "We are not human beings having a spiritual experience; we are spiritual beings having a human experience."

Long story short, after a long intellectual conversation with a friend of mine, I came to this conclusion:

Our physical life only lasts for a season and in a strange way it made me consider food! Could my skin be that of a fruit? Does it not bruise and age? Could my muscle be that of meat?  Tough, strong, and fibrous protein. Could my hunger for knowledge be that of bread and my thirst for wisdom be that of water?  There is a season to grow and a season to harvest. When we die our body breaks down and returns our borrowed gifts back to the earth. The cycle continues.

Moving on

It’s been years
since we met
We were meant to be
together for a lifetime
But when the time came
to make the journey,
You chose to leave
and since then, I have been
wandering aimlessly -
Is this what moving on is all about?
Moving on from the happy memories
Moving on from the stabbing pain
Moving on from the confusion
Moving on from the love we had
Moving on from the love we’ll never have
Moving on from knowing you
I still dream of you coming back
And when I wake up,
the reality hits me in the face
I often think of calling you,
I still hear your voice in my head
But our friends tell me
that you are in a better place
I know I’m strong, and
I’ll get over this
But right now, all my heart can think is
Is this what moving on is all about?
Moving on from the happy memories
Moving on from the stabbing pain
Moving on from the confusion
Moving on from the love we had
Moving on from the love we’ll never have
Moving on from knowing you
